Santa Pod 13th August
Off to the Pod on Friday 13th August Peak Performance Test and Tune day - limited to 100 cars
Me - Mustang Max 1 - Skyline Mrs Max 1 - a different Skyline Gary Gooding - RX7 Martin Smith - 7500cc Sierra Matt Smith - 7500cc Sierra Anyone else going? |
Mrs Max 1 is going to have a run? Excellent :)
I'll ask this question for anyone that reads that list of cars and thinks "uh-oh". Will most of the cars there be that quick or will there be some normal cars as well? I'll forward the dates to a couple of mates who run quick VW's and see if they are interested Fil. If anyone fancies a cracking day out, seeing some genuinely top draw cars and characters, get your arse down to Santa Pod for this. Trev and I have seen some very impressive motorsport over the years, but very little could hold a candle to the day that we spent over there recently. Best of luck buddy. Have you sorted anyone to do the video footage yet? It may be worth you trying to get someone along to get some HD footage. ( I have some contacts if necessary) |
It's basically a RWYB day but with more than normal track time due to the limit on cars. It costs a bit more at £60.00 but I think it's worth it as sometimes there is only 30 - 40 cars there.
For me it will be a good day to try and get the suspension set up sorted and have some heads up fun Jo will be armed with the video camera and I'm hoping Blackett Photography will be there with the slo-mo video so we can study the launch. Since the last meeting I have taken the rear tyres off and and refitted them with contact adhesive to try and stop the tyres slipping on the rim, both the rear tyres had moved about 6" from launching. If that doesn't work I will have to put screws through the rim into the tyre to hold them before the next meet. As a rule it's a good relaxed day with a variety of cars running from 7.5 to 19 seconds Marks missus, Sarah will be running a 550bhp skyline for the first time so don't feel like you have to have loads of experience to attend, it's open to all cars at whatever level of driver experience |
Sounds good, if I don't have any urgent work I may well pop along,
the rwyb last Saturday was really really quiet for a show weekend, some nice cars there though |
Martin and Matt have put the pro street sierra on the back burner and have bought the Top Secret Skyline to run on the 13th
Some of you guys might know of this car as it has been well documented It has run 9.6 and has approx 1200bhp there is a video of it on you tube doing 205mph on the street http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5gZF9EeIpY Obviously they are going to have to get used to it first so will be a good test day for them next friday |
gonna be a good day
|
I should be pressent ;-)
|
That should be a great day out.
The Top Secret car was always been a bit of a legend. I think Mr Webster had it first in the UK, then Mick Begley so if it's living on with these guys, that's great news :D Do you know if it's ever been dyno'ed Fil? I can't remember what terminal speeds it's done in the UK... Best of luck to Sarah, especially, but to all of you that are running. Keep us posted Fil  |
